Zechariah 12:7
“Yahweh also will save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of David’s house and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem not be magnified above Judah.”
What does Zechariah 12:7 mean?
God is making a promise here that speaks to fairness and dignity across a divided people. At the time Zechariah wrote this, Jerusalem and its royal line (David's descendants) held most of the visible power and prestige, while the rural areas and smaller towns of Judah felt overlooked. God is saying he won't let the capital and its elite be lifted up in a way that diminishes or leaves behind the ordinary people living in villages and countryside.
