What does Ruth 3:1 mean?
Naomi is doing what loving mothers do: she's thinking ahead about Ruth's future security and happiness. In their ancient culture, a woman's wellbeing depended heavily on being part of a stable household, and Naomi realizes it's time to help make that happen for her faithful daughter-in-law. This question is really Naomi's caring way of saying, "Let me help you find a good life," and it sets in motion the events that will transform both their circumstances.
