Romans 9:7
“Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But, “your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.””
What does Romans 9:7 mean?
God is making an important point about what truly matters: being a physical descendant of Abraham doesn't automatically make someone part of God's covenant family. When God promised Abraham he would have countless offspring, the promise wasn't about *everyone* born from Abraham's line, but specifically about those descended through Isaac, the son born through God's promise rather than human scheming. Paul uses this to explain that God has always worked by calling and grace, not by birthright alone. For us today, this means that belonging to God's family isn't something you inherit just because your parents or ancestors believed, but something you experience through your own relationship with Him.
