Romans 8:26

In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

What does Romans 8:26 mean?

When you're overwhelmed or heartbroken, sometimes words simply won't come. Paul reminds us that God's Spirit meets us exactly there, in that wordlessness, and actually prays *for* us when we can't find our own way to pray. Those unspoken groanings, sighs, and inarticulate longings you feel aren't failures at prayer, they're the very language the Spirit understands and carries before God on your behalf. You don't need the right words or perfect clarity, because you're never actually praying alone.
