Romans 6:23
βFor the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.β
What does Romans 6:23 mean?
Sin has real consequences, like a paycheck we've earned through our choices, and that payment is spiritual death, separation from God. But God offers something we could never earn or deserve: eternal life, a restored relationship with him that lasts forever, made possible through Jesus. The contrast here is striking, because while we "earn" death through our own actions, eternal life comes as a pure gift, given freely by grace. For many people walking difficult paths, this verse holds both honesty about struggle and an invitation toward hope.
