Romans 2:28

What does Romans 2:28 mean?
Paul is challenging a common assumption of his time: that being part of God's family depends on outward religious markers or ethnic identity. He's saying that physical circumcision, which was the sign of the covenant in Jewish tradition, doesn't automatically make someone spiritually connected to God if the heart isn't involved. This matters because many people rely on external practices, membership, or heritage to feel secure in their faith, when what truly matters is an internal transformation and genuine commitment.
