What does Romans 2:19 mean?
Paul is describing people who see themselves as spiritual teachers and moral authorities, convinced they understand God's truth so completely that they can guide others. The confidence itself isn't the problem, but Paul is gently setting up a challenge: if you're so sure you know the way, do you actually live what you teach? This matters because it's easy to feel certain about our understanding while overlooking our own blind spots. Paul isn't saying we shouldn't help others or share what we've learned, but he's inviting us to hold our confidence with humility, recognizing that spiritual maturity includes acknowledging where we still need to grow.
