Romans 2:16
“in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus Christ.”
What does Romans 2:16 mean?
Paul is reminding us that nothing escapes God's notice, not even the hidden motivations and private thoughts we keep from everyone else. On the day of final judgment, every secret thing will be brought into the light, and Christ himself will be the standard by which we're all measured. The comfort here isn't that judgment won't happen, but that it will be perfectly just and guided by the gospel's truth, not arbitrary condemnation. If you're carrying shame about things no one knows, or wrestling with how God could possibly be fair, this verse says that Jesus, who died for us, is the one doing the judging, which Paul calls "good news."
