What does Romans 15:1 mean?
Those of us who have more strength, stability, resources, or confidence have a responsibility to help carry the weight for people who are struggling right now. This isn't about charity from a distance, but about genuine sacrifice, choosing to inconvenience ourselves for others' sake rather than always doing what makes our own lives easier. Paul is writing to a diverse church where some people felt confident about certain practices while others felt bound by stricter rules. His point applies far beyond that specific situation: strength isn't meant to be used for self-protection or comfort, but as a tool for building others up. When you're doing well while someone near you is barely holding on, that proximity creates an obligation to share the load.
