Romans 12:9
βLet love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.β
What does Romans 12:9 mean?
Love that's real has to be genuine, not a performance put on for others. Paul is calling us to drop the mask and actually care about people rather than pretend to while judging them behind the scenes. When you truly love without fakery, it naturally means you'll turn away from what damages people and hold tight to what builds them up, whether that's kindness, honesty, justice, or mercy. This isn't about being perfect or never stumbling, but about honestly wanting good for others and yourself, and having the courage to choose it.
