Romans 11:5
“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.”
What does Romans 11:5 mean?
Paul is reassuring his readers that God hasn't abandoned His people, even when most have rejected Jesus. Just as God preserved a faithful minority during Israel's darkest periods in the Old Testament, He continues to work through a small group of Jewish believers in Paul's own time, chosen purely by God's grace rather than by human effort or deserve. The word "remnant" carries real weight here, especially if you're feeling spiritually isolated or wondering if your faith matters when so few around you seem to share it. Paul is saying that being part of God's plan doesn't require being part of the majority, and it doesn't depend on getting yourself right first—grace is the foundation.
