Romans 11:14
“if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.”
What does Romans 11:14 mean?
Paul is describing his deep motivation for his ministry to the Gentiles. He's saying that by bringing non-Jewish people into God's family and blessing them spiritually, he hopes to stir up his own Jewish relatives and friends, making them reconsider their rejection of Jesus. The word "jealousy" here means a longing to have what others possess, a desire not to be left out of something good. What's beautiful about this is that Paul isn't trying to hurt or shame the Jewish people. He's hoping to win them by showing them what they're missing.
