Romans 1:19
βbecause that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.β
What does Romans 1:19 mean?
God has built knowledge of himself into the very fabric of creation and human conscience, so that everyone encounters evidence of his existence and character whether they realize it or not. Paul is saying that no one has a legitimate excuse for ignoring God, since the reality of who he is keeps showing up in the world around us and within us. This doesn't mean people automatically understand everything about God or believe in him, but rather that the basic awareness of God's existence is available to all people in creation itself. It's a humbling reminder that God hasn't left himself without a witness anywhere.
