What does Revelation 3:13 mean?

This invitation appears at the end of each of the seven letters to the churches in Revelation, and it's Jesus gently pushing past our distractions to ask if we're really listening. The phrase "he who has an ear" isn't about physical hearing but about willingness—it's a way of saying that some people will tune in to what God is saying while others won't, even when the message is offered to everyone equally. What makes this compelling is that it comes after each church receives both affirmation and challenge, suggesting that the Spirit's words aren't always comfortable or easy to accept. If you're in a season of confusion or resistance, this verse reminds you that genuine spiritual growth often comes when we choose to hear, even if what we hear requires us to change.
