Revelation 3:10
“Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”
What does Revelation 3:10 mean?
Jesus is speaking to a church facing real persecution, and he's making them a promise rooted in what they've already shown him. Their faithfulness during hardship hasn't gone unnoticed, and he's assuring them that he will protect them through the trials coming to the whole world. The "hour of testing" refers to a time of severe difficulty that will affect everyone on earth, but those who belong to Jesus won't be abandoned in it. His protection doesn't necessarily mean escape from all suffering, but rather his sustained presence and care that keeps our faith—and our souls—safe even when circumstances are dire.
