Revelation 21:22
“I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple.”
What does Revelation 21:22 mean?
In John's vision of the renewed creation, there's no building set apart as "the temple" because God's direct presence fills everything. Throughout history, temples existed as special places where people encountered God, but in this restored world, that separation vanishes. God and Jesus (the Lamb) themselves become what the temple always pointed toward, meaning all of creation becomes sacred space where people live in unbroken communion with the divine. It's a beautiful image of ultimate homecoming, where we no longer need intermediaries or designated holy places because holiness and God's presence are woven into the fabric of everything.
