Revelation 20:11
“I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.”
What does Revelation 20:11 mean?
John describes a vision of the final judgment: God sits on a throne of perfect holiness and authority, and at that moment the physical creation itself cannot exist in his presence. The earth and sky don't gradually fade but flee away, as if repelled by the purity of God's face. This isn't meant to terrify believers, but rather to show that God's justice is absolute and complete—nothing can hide, nothing endures except what can stand before him. It's a picture of closure and finality, where all of history and creation are brought before the one source of all truth and judgment.
