What does Revelation 19:17 mean?
John describes a stark and unsettling vision here, one that uses vivid imagery to communicate something about God's final judgment. An angel calls the birds of the sky to gather for what sounds like a feast, but the "supper of God" refers to the destruction that follows humanity's rebellion against God. It's a jarring contrast: where we might expect a celebration, we find instead a gathering that symbolizes the aftermath of spiritual warfare.
