What does Revelation 16:13 mean?

In this vision, John describes evil forces spreading their deceptive messages through three sources of power: the dragon (Satan himself), the beast (political or worldly authority), and the false prophet (religious deception). The "unclean spirits like frogs" represent lies and corrupting ideas that hop from place to place, spreading quickly and contaminating everything they touch, much like actual frogs in ancient plagues. The image is deliberately grotesque because John wants us to recognize spiritual corruption for what it is, not to be fooled by how appealing it might seem on the surface. These aren't noble ideas or honest disagreements, but rather deceptive forces designed to lead people away from truth and toward spiritual death. For anyone feeling confused by the world's conflicting messages or struggling to know what to trust, this passage reminds us that discernment matters and that lies, no matter how widely they spread, don't become truth.
