Revelation 16:11
“and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores. They didn’t repent of their works.”
What does Revelation 16:11 mean?
Even in the midst of overwhelming suffering, these people choose anger toward God rather than change. Instead of letting their pain wake them up to what matters, they double down on blaming the divine and clinging to the same harmful patterns that got them there. It's a portrait of how stubbornness and pride can trap us, turning our hardest moments into moments of hardening rather than opening. The verse suggests that suffering alone doesn't automatically transform us, we have to choose whether to let it teach us something or just make us bitter.
