Revelation 11:13
“In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.”
What does Revelation 11:13 mean?
After the two witnesses have delivered their message and been raised to life, a dramatic shaking comes to Jerusalem. The earthquake causes real destruction, killing thousands and leaving survivors shaken and afraid. What's striking is that amid this devastation, people turn toward God rather than away from him. Their terror opens them to give glory to heaven itself, suggesting that sometimes our deepest vulnerabilities create space for us to acknowledge something greater than ourselves.
