Revelation 10:11

What does Revelation 10:11 mean?

John has been given a vision of an angel with a little scroll, and when he eats it, his mouth is sweet but his stomach turns bitter. This command that follows captures something real about calling and obedience: the message you're meant to share won't always feel good, even when it's necessary. The instruction to speak "again" suggests this isn't new work, but renewed work, expanded work, perhaps difficult work that requires going back to it. For anyone who's felt called to speak truth, comfort others, or stand up for something that matters, there's a recognition here that the assignment often extends further than we'd choose on our own. The scope is deliberately large ("many peoples, nations, languages, and kings"), reminding us that God's purposes reach beyond our immediate circles and that faithfulness sometimes means speaking to audiences and situations we never planned to address.
