Psalms 94:2
“Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve.”
What does Psalms 94:2 mean?
The psalmist is crying out to God in frustration, asking him to step in and set things right. This comes from someone who has watched arrogant people hurt others and get away with it, so they're pleading with God (who alone has the authority and power to judge fairly) to finally bring justice. The "proud" here aren't just confident people—they're those who mock God and trample on the vulnerable, acting as though rules don't apply to them. It's a raw, honest prayer from someone exhausted by injustice, reminding us that God cares when the powerful abuse their position and that we can bring our anger and frustration to him directly.
