What does Psalms 91:13 mean?

In ancient times, lions and cobras were real dangers that threatened people's lives, making them powerful symbols of genuine threat and evil. This verse uses that concrete imagery to express God's promise that he will give us victory over the forces that genuinely harm us, whether those are literal dangers or the spiritual and emotional struggles we face. The promise isn't that we'll never encounter difficulty, but that we won't be overcome by it, that we'll have power and authority through God's protection. For someone in a hard season, this offers the reassurance that what feels overwhelming right now doesn't have the final say over your life.
