Psalms 90:2
“Before the mountains were born, before you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.”
What does Psalms 90:2 mean?
God existed before anything we see around us came into being, and He will continue to exist forever. The psalm writer is trying to help us grasp something almost impossible to comprehend: while mountains crumble and planets age, God stands completely outside of time, unchanged and eternal. This isn't meant to make God feel distant, though. Rather, it's meant to comfort us by reminding us that no matter how temporary our struggles feel, we're held by someone who has always been and always will be. When everything in our lives feels unstable or uncertain, this verse invites us to trust in the one thing that truly never changes.
