Psalms 86:4
“Bring joy to the soul of your servant, for to you, Lord, do I lift up my soul.”
What does Psalms 86:4 mean?
The psalmist is asking God for something we all need: a lift in spirit during a difficult time. By saying "I lift up my soul to you," the writer is expressing complete dependence on God, turning away from worry and toward trust, like someone looking up from their struggles to focus on something greater. When we're worn down by life's challenges, this psalm reminds us that joy isn't something we manufacture on our own.
