Psalms 85:9
“Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.”
What does Psalms 85:9 mean?
When we reverence God and take our relationship with him seriously, his help and rescue are close at hand. The psalmist is saying that this salvation isn't distant or withheld from those who genuinely honor him, and when people experience that kind of deliverance, it transforms their whole community and nation. There's an invitation here: drawing near to God in respect and humility positions us to receive his saving work, and that blessing spills outward to affect the people around us.
