Psalms 78:17

What does Psalms 78:17 mean?
Even though God had shown the Israelites remarkable signs and provided for them in the wilderness, they kept turning away and acting against what they knew was right. This wasn't a one-time mistake but a pattern, a stubborn turning back to disobedience even in the face of God's faithfulness. The psalmist is reflecting on how difficult it is for any of us to stay loyal, especially when we're in hard or uncertain seasons where trust is tested. There's both sadness and realism here, recognizing that knowing God's goodness doesn't automatically make us obedient, but that our struggles with faithfulness are deeply human and ancient.
