What does Psalms 78:11 mean?
Forgetfulness is one of the deepest spiritual dangers—not because God minds being remembered, but because when we forget what he's done, we lose the very evidence that sustains our trust. The psalmist is reflecting on how Israel repeatedly turned away from God despite witnessing his miracles firsthand, from the plagues in Egypt to the parting of the Red Sea. When hardship came again, they responded with fear and doubt instead of remembering that God had come through before. This speaks to something universally human: we tend to forget God's faithfulness the moment circumstances get difficult. We remember our current crisis more vividly than his past provision.
