Psalms 77:10
“Then I thought, “I will appeal to this: the years of the right hand of the Most High.””
What does Psalms 77:10 mean?
The psalmist has been wrestling with doubt and pain, questioning whether God still cares. In this moment, he deliberately shifts his focus: instead of dwelling on his present struggles, he chooses to remember God's past faithfulness, the mighty deeds God performed on behalf of his people across generations. It's a conscious decision to look backward at evidence of God's strength and care, using those memories as an anchor when current circumstances feel overwhelming. This is the turning point in the psalm, where he moves from despair toward hope simply by redirecting his attention to what God has already proven capable of doing.
