Psalms 74:23
“Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.”
What does Psalms 74:23 mean?
When you're under attack, it's natural to want to move on and forget the noise of it all. But this psalm urges us not to dismiss or ignore what our enemies are doing, because their relentless opposition is literally rising up before God. The psalmist isn't telling us to obsess over our enemies, but rather to bring their hostility into our prayers and complaints with God, trusting that he hears and sees what we're facing. It's permission to name the real opposition in our lives rather than pretend it doesn't exist or doesn't matter. Sometimes acknowledging the weight of what opposes us, rather than burying it, is the first step toward finding real help and justice.
