Psalms 74:18

Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, Yahweh. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.

What does Psalms 74:18 mean?

The psalmist is calling out to God in the middle of real suffering, asking Him not to forget how thoroughly He's been disrespected. When enemies mock God's name and power, it feels especially painful to those who love Him, because their faith itself becomes a target for ridicule. The plea here isn't demanding revenge so much as it's an honest cry: "God, don't let this insult just fade away—see what's happening to your reputation and your people." It's the kind of prayer that emerges when someone is wounded not just personally, but for the sake of something they cherish.
