What does Psalms 7:15 mean?

When we set traps for others, we often end up caught in them ourselves. This verse captures that hard truth: the person who schemes and plans harm against someone else discovers that their own plot becomes their undoing. It's not magical justice from above, but the natural consequence of living a life bent on harming others—the energy and deception required eventually catches up with us. The psalmist is describing someone caught in this cycle, and there's both a warning and comfort here depending on where you stand. If you're being targeted by someone, this reminds you that their schemes won't ultimately prosper. If you're tempted toward deception or harm yourself, it's a gentle nudge toward choosing a better path before you become trapped by your own actions.
