God, you know my foolishness. My sins aren’t hidden from you.

What does Psalms 69:5 mean?

The psalmist is acknowledging something painfully honest: there's no point pretending with God or hiding behind excuses. Everything we've done wrong, every foolish choice and moment we're ashamed of, is already fully known to him. Rather than being a threat, this can actually bring relief. When we stop exhausting ourselves trying to cover up or justify our mistakes, we can admit them directly and find grace instead of judgment. This verse captures that vulnerable moment when we realize that honesty with God is both necessary and possible because he sees us completely anyway.
