Psalms 68:9
“You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance, when it was weary.”
What does Psalms 68:9 mean?
God sends rain to refresh and sustain the land, and in this image the psalmist is describing how God cares for the people he's claimed as his own. When Israel faced drought or hardship, they experienced God's provision as literal rain falling from the sky, but also as spiritual renewal in their weary hearts. The "inheritance" refers to God's people and the land he promised them, and the point here is that God doesn't abandon what belongs to him. He actively restores what has grown tired and parched, meeting real needs with real grace.
