Psalms 66:18

What does Psalms 66:18 mean?
The psalmist is being honest about how our relationship with God works: we can't hold onto sin while expecting Him to hear our prayers. This doesn't mean we have to be perfect—rather, it means we can't simultaneously want His help while deliberately clinging to something we know is wrong. When we genuinely turn toward God and let go of what separates us from Him, we open ourselves to being heard and helped. It's an invitation to examine our own hearts, not a threat, because it shows us that drawing close to God requires our honest participation in the process.
