What does Psalms 62:6 mean?

When life feels unstable, the psalmist anchors himself to the reality that God is completely reliable. A rock doesn't shift or crumble; a fortress actually protects you; salvation is the ultimate rescue. He's saying that no matter what happens around him, his foundation won't give way because it rests entirely on God rather than on circumstances or other people. The repetition here matters, too. "Rock," "salvation," "fortress" all describe the same source of security from different angles, as if the writer is turning the idea over in his mind and saying it again because he needs to believe it. That final declaration, "I will not be shaken," reads less like a boast and more like a quiet decision or reminder to himself about what he actually trusts.
