Psalms 6:7
“My eye wastes away because of grief. It grows old because of all my adversaries.”
What does Psalms 6:7 mean?
The psalmist is describing the physical toll that sorrow and conflict take on the body. When we're overwhelmed by pain or battling against those who oppose us, it affects us from the inside out, leaving us visibly worn and exhausted. The image of eyes wasting away captures something real: prolonged grief and stress literally change how we look and feel, aging us faster than time alone would.
