Psalms 59:5
“You, Yahweh God of Armies, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish the nations. Show no mercy to the wicked traitors. Selah.”
What does Psalms 59:5 mean?
When David wrote this, he was hunted and desperate, calling out for God to act decisively against those who wanted him dead. He's asking God to wake up, so to speak, and deal with the injustice happening around him, refusing to soften the blow for those he sees as betrayers.
