What does Psalms 59:12 mean?

The psalmist here is asking God to hold people accountable for the harm their words cause. When someone repeatedly lies, curses others, or speaks with destructive pride, those very words become the trap they fall into, whether through damaged relationships, loss of trust, or their own conscience catching up with them. It's less about God punishing from outside and more about recognizing that harsh, dishonest speech has a way of circling back on the speaker. This resonates deeply when we've been wounded by someone's words and wonder if justice matters, reminding us that God sees and takes seriously the damage done through speech.
