What does Psalms 56:3 mean?

Fear is honest here, not something to be ashamed of. The psalmist doesn't pretend to be fearless or suggest that trust makes fear disappear, but rather shows us what to do with our fear when it comes: we turn it into an anchor point, using it as a signal to lean toward God instead of away from him. It's a simple redirect, moving our focus from whatever has frightened us to someone we can trust. This works whether you're wrestling with daily worries or deeper terrors, because the practice is the same.
