Psalms 55:20

What does Psalms 55:20 mean?
This verse captures the raw pain of betrayal by someone close. The psalmist is describing someone who once made promises of friendship and loyalty, then broke them completely and turned hostile instead. That violation of covenant is particularly devastating because covenants weren't casual agreements in ancient Israel, they were sacred bonds meant to last.
