What does Psalms 55:1 mean?

The psalm writer is in distress and asking God to actually hear what he's bringing. There's an urgency here, almost a plea not to be overlooked or ignored during a time when he really needs to know God is present. When you're struggling, that fear of praying into silence can feel almost worse than the original problem, so David names it directly. He's not demanding that God fix everything immediately, just asking Him to stay close and pay attention, which itself becomes an anchor when everything else feels unstable.
