Psalms 5:10
“Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.”
What does Psalms 5:10 mean?
The psalmist here is calling out to God in raw honesty about people who oppose him and refuse to follow God's ways. Rather than asking God to punish them directly, he's asking God to let their own poor choices catch up with them, the way a person who ignores warnings might stumble into the very pit they were warned about. It's a plea born from real hurt and frustration, expressing the desire that God would hold people accountable for turning away from him. If you've ever felt wronged by people who seemed indifferent to doing what's right, you might recognize that feeling in these words.
