What does Psalms 4:5 mean?

When the psalm writer speaks of "sacrifices of righteousness," he's not talking about animals brought to the temple, but about living rightly and doing what's just. It's an invitation to offer God something real: honest choices, integrity in hard moments, and kindness toward others, especially when no one's watching. The second part pulls it all together: trusting God isn't separate from living well, it's the foundation for it. When you're trying to do the right thing but feeling uncertain or afraid, this verse says that both the doing and the trusting belong together. You live with integrity not because you're perfect, but because you're leaning on God to guide and sustain you through it.
