What does Psalms 37:16 mean?
A small, honest life is worth more than great wealth gained through wrongdoing. The psalmist isn't saying poverty is virtuous or that rich people are automatically wicked, but rather pointing out something we often forget when we're struggling financially: what matters most for our peace and dignity is how we got what we have, not how much it is. When you live with integrity, even modest circumstances come with a clear conscience and genuine security. When wealth is built on dishonesty or cruelty, it comes with constant anxiety, emptiness, and the fear of being found out.
