What does Psalms 35:24 mean?
When David wrote this, he was surrounded by enemies who wanted to see him fail and humiliated. He's asking God to act as judge and defender, to prove that he's innocent and that those attacking him are wrong. The plea isn't for revenge so much as for justice, a clearing of his name so that those celebrating his downfall will have to face the truth instead.
