What does Psalms 34:4 mean?

The psalmist is describing a moment of real relief, when turning toward God actually changed something. He brought his anxieties and worries directly to God, and found that not only did he receive a response, but something shifted inside him. The fears that had been weighing on him lost their grip. This speaks to something many people experience: sometimes our fears shrink when we stop carrying them alone and bring them into the open with someone we trust. For the writer of this psalm, that trust was placed in God, and it made a tangible difference in how he felt.
