Psalms 31:22

As for me, I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before your eyes.” Nevertheless you heard the voice of my petitions when I cried to you.

What does Psalms 31:22 mean?

The psalmist describes a moment of panic, when fear whispered that God had abandoned him entirely. In that rush of despair, he felt invisible and forgotten, as though he'd been cast out beyond God's reach. Yet what follows is the turning point: even in that dark moment when he called out, God actually heard him. The verse captures something deeply human about faith, not as constant certainty, but as a discovery that God was listening all along, even when our hearts convinced us otherwise.
