Psalms 31:15
“My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.”
What does Psalms 31:15 mean?
The psalmist is declaring that his entire life, every moment from beginning to end, belongs to God's care and control. When he asks to be delivered from enemies and persecutors, he's not just asking for protection, but reminding himself (and us) that God is already in charge of what happens to him. This is deeply comforting when life feels chaotic or when people are working against us. The writer isn't pretending enemies don't exist or that persecution isn't real and painful. Instead, he's anchoring himself to the belief that even in those dark moments, his life isn't ultimately in his enemies' hands, but in God's. That shift in perspective often brings peace, even when circumstances don't immediately change.
